It has been a long time do not post since don't know how many years ago and i will never knew that i will re-blog until the first class of Malaysian Media & Culture in 9th of June 2015.
Okay, i am type of person who kinda lazy to think and use bombastic words to describe my feelings and things. So, first, when our beloved lecturer wanted us to create a blog for this subject as an assignment, i was like ' walao eh! ' but i will still do so because IT IS ASSIGNMENT MAH! ok ok fine. stop crapping.
Let's into the topic. A not so deep but quite a deep question from my beloved lecturer, the cute one Dr.Carmen <3 awww she's cute i think i met her before in the lift and she did asked me some question and we were talked before, ya if no mistake i did met her before in the lift, at the pd block lift maybe. ermm, ya..... ok ok. come back come back. A kind of deep but not so deep question which is "Do you identify as a Malaysian? Why? DOES IT MATTER?" YES. HAHAHAH answer can be like this?
Yes, I was born and raised in this wonderful land. I having an identity card and car license in my beautiful purse. I'm a Kuantanese. (imisskuantanfoodandmyparentsandtelukcempedak) After SPM, i further my study in UTAR my choice becoming an Utarian and i love Malaysia foods. Who don't like? During the lecture class, Dr.Carmen asked us to write down the first 3 words come into our mind when she mentioned those terms, first, Malaysia. "klcc, FOOD and people." the rest i forget already.... I can't remember much because that time i haven't eat my breakfast and I really can't live without food.
DOES IT MATTER? does it matter. of course la! If friends from oversea asking me about food in Malaysia, i must be super duper happy and exciting to tell them "story".

Hahahah if i do not know better i might think you are writing a Malaysian food blog. :) i get it that you LOVEEEEE Malaysian food, so do I. Who isn't right?
ReplyDeleteBut what about expatriates? Those that have lived here for many years, that are well versed in different language and are accustomed to our culture and values. Do you consider them as Malaysian too?
Being Malaysian matters to you because you are proud to share about Malaysian food right? What about when Malaysia isn't doing good. When Malaysia is always in a limelight for the wrong reason. How do you think a fellow Malaysian should react to this kind of situation? Actions speak louder than voice?
